Posted by

As you venture into the journey of being a bridesmaid, you will come across many moments where you will need to make some important decisions. Decisions like where to host the bridal shower or bachelorette party to how best to support your bride and so on. Yet, one of every bridesmaids biggest decisions when preparing for the wedding, and is usually left to the last minute, is how you are going to wear your hair. We all know this decision will be one that lasts a lifetime through photos and videos and shouldn't be one you wait until the last minute to make. The last thing any bridesmaid wants to do is leave an unfavorable lasting impression with your hairstyle choice, so here are some sophisticated and timeless wedding hairstyles to consider based on the neckline of the bridesmaid dress. These options will not only be elegant, but flattering to the cut of your dress. Whether you choose a bridal hairstyle that is left up or left down and loose, whether it's straight or curly, you will look fabulous in your bridesmaid dress and complementing hairstyle.

Strapless and Sweetheart Necklines

A strapless or sweetheart neckline is an extremely very popular choice for dresses. Thankfully its a flexible style dress, which allows you to choose from many hairstyle options, because these style dresses draw attention to and highlight the bridesmaid's neck, collarbone and shoulders. Your hair will look exquisite whether you wear it all the way up or down with loose, flowing hair. A flowing hairstyle also adds versatility in photographs and video because your hair can be pushed off the shoulders, pulled over to one side or over both shoulders to provide even more coverage. A wonderful example is this side part with soft waves. It provides just enough skin coverage but still looks elegant and timeless.

If you are looking to wear your hair all the way up we like this soft waved side part up-do. Its a modern take on a classic. It showcases the bridesmaids neck and shoulders will still looking sophisticated.

One-Shoulder Neckline

With a single-shoulder gown or asymmetrical dress, there are a some very attractive bridal hairstyle options for you to chose from for either wearing your hair up or off to one side. Side-swept curls, side braids or ponytails are a good option and will cover your bare shoulder and balance out the neckline.

If you would like to focus on the neckline of your dress and then consider an up-do as it will showcase the cut and shape of the dress. A bun with side sweep bangs off to one side to mirror the dress's shape is a lovely look to consider.

V-Shaped Neckline

A V-shaped neckline is another popular and classic shape for bridesmaid dresses. An up-do is the best choice for this style dress because it will elongate your neck and give you the appearance of being taller and leaner. Consider a modern center part braided up- do or a soft braided bun.

Bateau Neckline

The boat or “bateau” neckline brushes along the collarbone to show only the slightest hint of skin. To enhance this neckline design, wear your hair up and off your face in either a modern take on the french twist or a low up-do, like a chignon. What's wonderful about a these bridal hairstyles is that they can be worn with or without bangs and with a delicate broach or barrette for added elegance.
